Bothy Threads Cut Thru Sal update and some old chairs.

It's been a busy week so I'm a little late on posting a picture of my sal update, however here it is ...
Bothy Threads Cut Thru Tea Shop.

I thought I would share some roadside finds to you, this is the first time I've gone and taken someones discarded belongings, and I did ask the owner of the house first if it was okay I took them, didn't want to be arrested for stealing some old chairs off the side of the road, that would have been embarrassing!
So why the interest in these chairs?  Well I thought the shape of them wasn't bad and they didn't seem to be broken and the rest I will blame on seeing some fabulous furniture refurbishing on Pinterest.
As you can see these chairs are fairly old, I would guess 25- 30 years old, and yes a little bit dirty, but overall not too bad.

I was worried about rotting wood or rusty chair springs, but once I turned the chair over and opened up everything to take a look at the interior condition I found much to my relief everything looked clean and dry and look no springs, just these canvas type straps holding everything in place.

So the guy's who's chairs these were thinks I am mad for taking them, and my husband thinks they are ugly and I am mad for wanting them - what do you think?
I have never refurbished - well ... anything ... however I am imaging with some carefully chosen fabric these chairs should look great! How hard can it be right?  Fingers crossed!

  8. hahaha! Amanda I had to laugh at your "how hard can it be". I made a slipcover for our wing chair a few years ago. Not fun. Took a long time. Look for good directions. I used several books from the library. I hope it is easier for you.
